Hello, I'm pretty new to sound, helping with sound at my church using their existing setup for the last few months and been reading some books and online about it quite a bit.
I want to learn more and looking for a good way to practice live sound mixing (not so much recording at this point) without the need for a live band. Is it possible to use Prime on a Mac or iPad connected directly to USB on a Behringer XR18 Digital Mixer (https://www.musictribe.com/Categories/Behringer/Mixers/Digital/XR18/p/P0BI8). The XR18 seems to have a built-in bidirectional USB audio-interface. I assume I could then download a multi-track from the loop community, play it in Prime on Mac or iPad with output into USB of XR18 which would allow me simulate a live band playing and mix it using the XR18. Would this work? Has anyone ever learned/practiced live sound mixing with a similar setup?
Thank you in advance for helping a novice find a simple & cost effective solution!
We have not tested PRIME with the Behringer XR18 Digital Mixer, so we cannot guarantee that it would work. We do know that others have done this with different digital mixers, we just can't make any guarantees to PRIME working with it.
Thanks for being a part of LC!
