Prime Audio Not Split Out

Hey guys! Trying to isolate a problem with my iPad and Prime. The audio seems to be intermittently not getting split out to Left and Right. Had the dreaded Click & Cues sneak into the house mix on Sunday after everything worked fine in soundcheck. So far the solution is unplugging the audio cable and plugging back in. But it is hit or miss and gives no warning as to when it will send everything on both sides as to being split. Wondering if it is just my iPad or has anyone else had this happen. Both iPad and Prime app are up to date. Thanks for your help!

A.

I should have read a little deeper into the threads. Sounds like it is the new pan feature.

I had this happen on my iPhone. Turned out the jack in the phone itself had gone bad and caused it to happen intermittently. Luckily, I found this out during a rehearsal and not during a Sunday morning.

Thomas, was this before or after the new "pan" feature?

Monday, May 4, 2015 - 11:06am

It was before

I had another device to test with and confirmed it was the jack. I ended up replacing the jack and it fixed the issue I was having.

I had an issue last night at youth group. At practice it worked perfectly as normal, but before going live i unplugged everything/turned off the screen/and charged the phone. When I plugged it back in before we started I pressed play on my looptimus and it was like it wasn't even split left and right. To make it work correctly again I had to close Prime. It worked like a charm as normal when I restarted it. I thought it might be a glitch from the newest update... From what I can tell the iphone app does not have the pan feature...

Anyone else have this issue recently?

This is obviously a repetitive problem with a lot of people. We've had this happen with multiple set ups on multiple devices.

This is happening to me every week! Super frustrating. Anyone else having this issue still?

I had it happen again, even after getting a new iPhone. It happened during a live service, and since we on stage use in ears, didn't know the click and cues were coming over the mains. The sound guy eventually figured out what was going on and turned down the instrumentation in the house, but it was close to 1/4 way through the song. I haven't used Prime live since then.

Hey guys,
I can guarantee you that this is NOT an issue with PRIME, but something on your end and how you're splitting the audio out.
If you need help, feel free to email us at support@loopcommunity.com

Matt ... I have the audio out from the iPhone going to two separate channels in the snake to the soundboard. 1/8" stereo Y-cable to 1/4" mono ends, into DI boxes to the board.

Intermittently, both the instrumentation and the click/cues come through both channels. The only way to resolve it is to disconnect, reboot, and reconnect. The only place this could happen is in the iPhone itself. If it's not Prime, then it's the iPhone's handling of the audio. Either way, Prime on an iPhone is too risky for a live environment. Too many people are experiencing this to say it's not a problem.

That said, I haven't seen anyone say they had this issue with an iPad. It seems to all be iPhone users. I know the two versions of the app are different...

I ha this problem when I first started using prime. I found that my case was not letting my splitter go all the way in the jack. This was causing an incorrect connection and was sending all tracks to both channels. I took off the case and have not had a problem since.

I noticed the same thing when I 1st started using an iPhone (initially with audio input in my car). Because of that, I made removing my iPhone case one of the setup steps prior to using Prime. I've also noticed that lint, or other junk, inside the headphone jack can cause the cable to not seat fully and cause spotty output. In the case of my issues using the iPhone live with Prime though, this was not the case. It was a new iPhone without a case, and restarting the app can sometimes fix it. Other times, rebooting the phone can fix it.

What would be great is if we could connect an iPhone (or iPad) to the looptimus, as well as a multichannel output device. I would love to have 4 channels of output ( 1+2= Stereo instrumentation, 3= click, and 4= ques). Or even just 3, with click and cues together. But having gain control at the sound board would be nice for the cues.

We haven't had any other iPhone users say they are experiencing this. We've also tested thoroughly on all of our devices here. I'd love to help your individual case - just email support@loopcommunity.com

As far as Multi-Outs go, you actually can do exactly what you're wanting. Check out this video:

Great video, seems to be exactly what I am looking for. This would certainly solve any headphone jack bleeding issues as well.

Will it work with the iPhone version of Prime? I don't see an "Out" button in Prime on my iPhone SE, although I don't have a multi channel interface connected either; Or is this another iPad only feature like "midi mapping"?

Looks like you tested with an iConnectAUDIO4+ , but it should also work with an iConnectAUDIO2+ as well, correct?

Currently only a feature for iPad version.
Yes - will work with iConnectAudio2

Our church just got a newer ipad to run PRIME on and we are having the exact same issue with it bleeding in the other channel when using the headphone jack.

Hey Jeremy, it's definitely not PRIME, and more than likely not the iPad. Any bleed issue is 99% of the time something to do with everything after the headphone jack - cables used, adapters, splitters, etc. Shoot us an email to support@loopcommunity.com and we can look into your specific issue.

Thanks Matt- we plan on using the iconect4 anyway so it should be ok once we get that figured out. =)

I know every is saying it's definitely not prime, but last night I had this same problem again. It's not my cables, or the ipad. When I plug another source into the ipad, or even play audio through the same connects through youtube, i get signal on both left and right. Only Prime is just sending to the L. Any solutions? My software is all up to date.

Ben - what do you mean when you say PRIME is only sending to the Left? Have you tried pressing the Stereo / Pan button?

Friday, December 8, 2017 - 1:19pm

Yo. I have tried pressing stereo and pan and nothing changes. I only get audio out the left (clicks/cues). No signal on the right, which through the pan setting is sending tracks to the board. I know I need to upgrade to laptop, but we're just not there yet.

If you plug in a pair of headphones, can you hear the right side? If so, then the problem is with your cables or soundboard, not PRIME.

Wow. Solved. Sorry for the assumptions. I tested an alternate track, and everything works. It's the track. Something is wrong with it. My fault. Sorry!
