This is such a tease!
Very much so. I work in ableton mainly. It kind of sounds like its got an arp on it, but at the same time, not.
Hey Kristian! Thanks for the reply man. I appreciate it. Yeah, he is running our pro presenter in its entirety. Normally, I have my laptop on stage with me, positioned next to our drummer. I work for a church that uses satellite feeds, so our worship experiences are timed to 18 minutes exactly. So when I make our sets, I actually just make one 'master' loop set where I just launch our first scene and it runs through the whole set with our transitions already set in. Since its just one button they will have the computer in the back when we do the video. I use midistroke (upgrading to bomes very soon) and using the keystroke method. I'm wanting to get the midi module for pro presenter, I'm just waiting for the okay from our pastor to purchase. The only problem with the keystroke method is how picky it is. I put the video's onto a slide, rather then just putting the video into the playlist because thats the only way that I can assign a hotkey. Video's won't accept hotkeys. The other problem is that the hotkey will only work through midistroke if the video itself is selected. So if he were to fire the experience intro video, and then fire ableton (which in turn would fire the hotkey)the video wouldn't fire. He would have to fire the first video, hit the spacebar to queue the lyric video, and then hit ableton. I tried setting midistroke hit the spacebar and then the hotkey, but for some reason it seems to glitch. It scrolls through every item in the playlist. This might be midistroke itself. I'm not entirely sure. I just want a way for that hotkey to launch the video, regardless of whether or not its been selected or queued.
That was a long explanation for a simple thing. Haha. But I've checked out your site and video's and they have definitely helped! I appreciate it!
I'm not sure if anyone still looks at this thread, but I had a question. We're using this method here pretty soon, but my question is in reference to Jake Stemo's (Who I just realized lives in Wichita like I do! I don't know if you'll see this Jake, but I totally met you at Mead's not that long ago... small world.)
I understand how to set up to fire the midi notes from ableton, and then have them go to bome's, (I'm actually using a program called midistroke which is free. I got that link from another thread here on loopcommunity. The amount of information on here is incredible. So very thankful for how much this community has helped me when I've needed it.)but heres where I have a problem. It's actually more of a propesenter problem then anything. Our visual's guy will start our intro to service video, and then ideally, he would just start the loop in ableton which would automatically trigger the next lyric video in propresenter. The problem is in propresenter, he has to trigger that video, then hit the spacebar so the next video is queued, then fire the loop. That seems like a no brainer, but it scares the pants off of me. Maybe its a pride thing in my head, maybe I need to learn how to be more trusting, i'm not sure. But if our visuals guy forgets to hit the spacebar, and just fires the loop, then the lyrics video won't trigger and then we lose the sync between computers. Is there a preference in propresenter that enables that hotkey to fire the video no matter if it is queued or not? That would make it so that he just fires the video, then fires the loop and he's good to go. Does anyone have any tips on this?
