In addition to mapping buttons in Prime<\/a> to a Looptimus<\/a> foot controller, you can also map Prime’s faders to a MIDI expression pedal! This will allow even more control of your tracks and is optimal for fading in and out your songs in Prime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before using an expression pedal, you will want to calibrate its range so that Prime can properly read its highest and lowest points of the pedal. There are many different MIDI expression pedals out on the market, but we recommend the Roland EV-5<\/a> for its performance, quality, and compatibility with the Looptimus<\/a> and Looptimus Mini<\/a>. Make sure that you are not using a volume pedal, as they do not work with Looptimus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing you will want to do, even before powering on the Looptimus, is to plug in your expression pedal. There are two jacks on the back of Looptimus. You will want to plug your expression pedal into the silver jack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once it\u2019s plugged in, hold down the F and C buttons on your Looptimus, then plug in the USB cable to the Looptimus. This will turn it on and after a few seconds, the LED screen will ready \u201cE 0\u201d. When you see this, your expression pedal is now ready to start calibrating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Press your expression pedal all the way down. Then press \u201cNext\u201d on the Looptimus. This let\u2019s the Looptimus know that the expression pedal is at its lowest range. The LED screen on your Looptimus should now read \u201cE 1\u201d. Press your expression pedal all the way up, then press \u201cNext\u201d again. This let\u2019s the Looptimus know that it is at its highest range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And just like that, your expression pedal is now ready to be used in Prime! When you map a fader in Prime, its lowest and highest points on the fader will match the lowest and highest points on the expression pedal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
