Hard Disk Overload

Ableton

When I play a set, I run my loops straight from Ableton. Occasionally, the loops will cut out and the Hard Disk Overload will light up, but it usually is very brief and not a huge deal. Today, all I had in Ableton was a file I pulled from iTunes so I could make a loop and it was happening all over the place, so it seems to be getting worse. I'm still pretty new to any kind of software like this, so I have no idea what the problem could be. My computer is kind of a piece of junk, but I've never had this problem before. Any ideas?

Go to Ableton Preferences, click the Audio tab, try changing your buffer size to a higher number. The higher the buffer size, the more latency (which doesn't really matter if it's just click & tracks). Try 128, 256, 512, or 1024.

I'll try that! Thanks!
