Omitting Instruments in Loops in Ableton

Ableton

Is there any way to omit certain instruments from loops that I buy from Loop Community? For example, my team wants to use the loops for all the synths and whatnot, and we're good with the click and vocal cues, but we really don't want our drummer to have to stick to the predetermined drum beat programmed to the loop. Is there anyway to mute the drum kit individually in the loops? Thanks.

Caleb, All loops from LC get sold as a basic package ("LoopTrack"). This gives you the bounced version of the loop, all instruments included. If you want to remove/ edit specific instruments in the loop, you would want the other option, "MultiTrack Stems." This will give you each instrument in the loop as a separate .wav file. You can pick which ones you want or edit specific tracks. If you wanted, you could then bounce your own stereo loop from only the tracks you want.

Thanks, so basically buy the MultiTrack, then mute whatever instruments I don't need, then bounce that to play live? Do the MultiTracks come with all the elements that the Loops come with plus live-recorded drums/guitar/piano/bass?

So the name is definitely confusing. The LC product won't be a true "multi-track" (drums, guitar, bass, etc) unless it is labeled with a blue M next to like the multi-tracks on this page: http://loopcommunity.com/multi-tracks With that said, when you buy a loop (electronic backing track), you can choose the 'multi-track/ stems' version of it which will give the individual components of that loop. So, you would buy the multi-track/ stems version of the loop you want. You would mute the instruments you don't need and re-bounce. It would not come with live-recorded drums/guitar/piano/bass unless you heard those things in the loop preview. You're just getting the individual tracks of the loop you previewed.

Gotcha. So Multi Track/Stems is toates m'goats different than an actually "MultiTrack" that LoopCommunity also sells? Got it. Thanks my man.

Also, if you don't mind also working on reducing the price from $19.99 per loop to $9.99. Haha.

The prices were just reduced not too long ago. Creating tracks from scratch is a lot of work and time. $20 is quite a reasonable and competitive price point! When I work with artists or churches to create intricate programming/content for their albums or live events and shows it goes into the hundreds if not thousands per song.
